Our roots
Welcome to (re)Insurance Professionals Miami, a networking platform for the Latin America & Caribbean insurance and reinsurance market.When Alex Guillamont arrived in Miami in 2010 to establish Kennedys, he noticed something missing—unlike in London and Madrid, there was no local forum bringing together industry professionals who serviced the region. Driven by the desire to build a space for sharing experiences, knowledge, and expertise, he set out to create a dynamic network for the insurance and reinsurance community.
On September 22, 2011, the first Insurance Professionals Meeting in Miami was held. At that inaugural presentation at the former Novecento on Brickell Avenue, Ricardo García (then Head of Helvetia in Miami) spoke about the entrepreneurial risks carriers were prepared to take under acceptable conditions. The presentation sparked informal debate over tapas and drinks—a fitting start to what would become a long-standing tradition.
The Creation of Our Events
After three years of Novecento gatherings, Alex and QLDG’s Juan Lopez-Santini realized the power of those candid, personable discussions. Over a tomahawk steak dinner—again at Novecento—they laid the groundwork for what would become the annual Miami Latin American Claims (re)Insurance Forum. Focused on the claims side of the industry, the Forum has since drawn the participation of thousands of claims professionals who routinely engage in lively discussion of relevant claims and underwriting topics.
A few risk managers and brokers from across the region who sought broader dialogue with peers across the insurance spectrum enticed Juan and Alex to launch the 360 in 2023. Held during Miami’s Reinsurance Week every February, the event brings together risk managers, brokers, underwriting agencies, and market representatives, staying true to the Forum’s original
spirit of authenticity and collaboration.

Alejandro Guillamont

Mr. Guillamont brings over 25 years of experience working directly with (re)insurers in South Florida. He possesses a deep understanding of the industry’s key players and internal dynamics, and has held multiple leadership roles throughout his career. His work has earned him numerous professional accolades. Since 2011, he has led Brickell Novecento Meetings, followed by the Claims Forum since 2015, and the 360 since 2023. Alex is Co Founder of ICCE Insurance Corporate & Consulting Experts.
Juan E. Lopez Santini
Co-FOunder
During the past close to four decades, Juan E. López-Santini has participated as a forensic accountant in thousands of damage valuation, business interruption and litigation support engagements and has also presented expert witness testimony in international tribunals. He is a founding partner of QLDG and a prominent expert and leading voice in the valuation of damages and business interruption in the power generation, mining and oil industries (amongst others). In 2015 he co-founded the Claims Forum followed by the 360 in 2023.
