Ironshore International has named Juan M. Melo to serve as the Head of Crisis Management for Latin America and the Caribbean. Mr. Melo joins Ironshore’s Miami team and will focus on the complex risk exposures of War & Terrorism and Kidnap & Ransom insurance. He will be based in the Miami office, reporting to Pepe Márquez, Regional Manager for Ironshore in Latin America & Caribbean.
Mr. Melo was most recently with Hiscox, Inc. as a Senior Vice President in Miami underwriting Latin American risks and served as Senior Client Relationship Manager at Hiscox ASM in London. His 20 year career reflects expertise in underwriting various specialty lines of business for insurance entities in London and Latin America. Upon joining the industry as Vice President of Casualty Lines for THB Colombia Corredores de Reaseguros in Bogota, he relocated to London to serve as Deputy Underwriter with Lloyd’s SVB Syndicate and later as an underwriter with APJ Asset Protection Jersey.
