Juan G. Uribe, Managing Director of RTS – International Loss Adjusters – talks about PowerGen claims to the Latin American Claims (re) Insurance Forum

For achieving satisfactory results from the provision of claims adjustment services to the Latin American power industry, having local experience and a team of experts with a global reach is an incomparable advantage, Juan G. Uribe explained to the Latin American Claims (re) Insurance Forum.

The expanding population and economic growth forecasts for Latin America over the coming years will doubtlessly result in an increased demand for power, which will therefore require the installed capacity to be increased. A good example is Mexico, which represents a fifth of the demand for power in Latin America.

It is clear that whilst the Latin American market is relatively young, it is a fast developing market that has within its ranks a lot of highly experienced professionals who have decades of experience – not only in Latin America but on a worldwide basis. RTS is a good example.

Meanwhile, on a global scale, the International Renewable Energy Agency—IRENA—published the REmap 2030 Roadmap, which highlights how the proportion of renewable to conventional energies around the world will have doubled by 2030.

The value that RTS brings with regard to conventional and renewable energies is the combined experience of our adjusters in Latin American, Spain and Portugal.

Aware that the insurance sector relies on well-recognised adjustment services, RTS has been investing in our qualified professionals in different countries for more than 26 years, so that we can offer services that will yield the best and most consistent results.

RTS claims services also extend to other lines, such as construction, property, marine, liability and financial lines. A good example of the recognition given to RTS for our experience and the added value we bring to our clients is the fact that we were recently accepted as a member of the International Association of Engineering Insurers (IMIA). The objective is to participate in a global association of experts in engineering insurance, who will exchange experiences, develop research and compare studies, among other activities. Its essential value is the management of a forum founded in order to foster understanding and promote best practices in the area of engineering insurance in all its forms.

Another example is that RTS International Loss Adjusters has been, year after year, a proud sponsor of the Latin American Claims (re) Insurance Forum.

“The Latin American Claims (re) Insurance Forum is a unique event that allows RTS to concentrate on the special circumstances and needs of Latin American insurance and reinsurance claims. We are looking forward to participating again in 2016 and taking advantage of interesting roundtables with important clients.” Uribe says.

RTS’s headquarters are in Madrid, Spain, with several offices in Spain and Portugal. On the other side of the Atlantic, we have offices in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, the Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Panama, Peru, the USA and Venezuela. In addition, RTS is a cofounder partner of the VRS Adjusters network, through which we offer services in 140 countries.
