Kennedys Latin America & Caribbean Miami office  increases the number of Latin American (re) insurance lawyers and hires two new members, Juan Pablo Peralta from Chile and Jorge Mere from Peru.

Juan Pablo Peralta

Juan Pablo Peralta worked for Kennedys’ Madrid office since 2008 prior to joining the Miami office. He comes from a Chilean family of local insurance and reinsurance lawyers and adjusters. With experience in Chile, the UK and Spain, he is currently assisting with insurance coverage disputes respect of construction losses, political and economic risk, D&O and PI-BBB claims in the region, particularly Chile, Bolivia and Costa Rica.

 Juan Pablo provides insight into areas that are key to understanding Latin American insurance markets, including South American policies, international markets and their associated risks.  Juan Pablo is a Spanish native speaker and is fluent in English.

Jorge Mere

Jorge Mere is a Lawyer qualified in Peru with 8 years of experience in civil litigation and insurance law. He has successfully earned his masters degree in U.S. and Transnational law from the University of Miami and he has worked as a litigator for a top tier Peruvian law firm, as a member of their civil litigation team. While working as Peruvian counsel for different US law firms and as an adjuster for one of the largest insurance companies in the world, he has gained substantial experience in policy analysis, negotiations, dispute resolutions, and insurance law.

He is currently handling reinsurance disputes in respect of product liability, architect + engineers professional indemnity and property/mining disputes. Jorge is also working on qualifying as a US lawyer. Jorge is a native Spanish speaker and is fluent in English.
